Micah Rogers End of Kidney Failure

Don protégé
Micah Devon Rogers 40 years old born in Durham NC. He married to Tamika Rogers on June 11, 2011 they have three sons Ta'Ron Williams, Damarion Lyles, Davion Lyles and one daughter Daniyah Lyles. On May 2016 my husband had not been feeling well, we went to the ER on that Sunday to discovered that his kidneys were not functioning properly. He was admitted into the hospital and the next day he was diagnosed with end stage kidney failure. It was so severe that he was placed on Dailysis later that day. Micah is currently on Dailysis 3 to 4 hours a day 3 days a week, which as times he is unable to function and do his normal routine of daily living. Since then times have been hard for our family with him unable to work as he would desire, but we have continue to be faithful in church, our family, helping others even during this test in our life. Micah is in need of a kidney transplant. We need everyone help.

Since there is no treatment or cure for Kidney Disease,we continue to trust God. We have two options: 1) get a kidney transplant, or 2) spend the rest of his life on dialysis. Dialysis gets rough for him at times to bare and we can't imagine having a machine working to keep him alive for the rest of his life. This is not the life my husband has want for himself, his husband goal is to get a transplant so that he can get his life back and to get back to working as he desire and providing for his family.
The time has come to start preparing for the transplant and we are needing your help. We thank everyone that has been there for us thus far. Even with insurance between medication, supplies, transportation to and from follow up appointments we are looking at minimum $2,000-$6,000 a month just for medication after the transplant which is critical for his health and survival not including the cost of food and household bills. The cost of the kidney transplant is approximately $350,000.

We continue to remain postive during this time and thank God for the blessing he is about to bless our family with. Any financial assistance that you can provide would be greatly appreciated more than we can adequately put into words. Thank you everyone for your support and your prayers.

*****Here’s how you can help:****

If you are curious about helping out in a different way, please consider being tested to become a live kidney donor and literally help to save my life. With 83,000 people waiting ahead of him on the national kidney transplant list, the average wait on this list can be five years, or more. Through living donation, a healthy person can donate one of their kidneys while they are still living. Kidneys from living donors offer a number of superior benefits other than just timeliness. There is a greater success rate and nearly double the years of function. Living donors not only help those in need get a healthy "living" kidney; they also prevent those in need from getting sicker (or dying) while they wait. There is also my financial stress to you everything will be covered for the living donor.

If you are just curious about the process or have any questions, please feel free to ask. It is important to know that if you do decide to proceed with getting on the list to be tested, you can back out at any time and for any reason, no questions asked.

Thanks so much for your consideration and please feel free to ask us any questions you may have!
