Marcus Goes To Moody

I am excited to share August 15, 2018 is my first day of college at Moody Bible Institute (MBI) in Chicago! But, before I got to this point in my story I was a young man in the inner city Wilmington, Delaware. Growing up I always wanted to get out of the place I lived and move my family up and out of where I came from. So my answer was to become a doctor, but the funny part God wanted me to do even more than that.
For the past 6 years I worked in a ministry called Urban Promise (UPW) where they served me even as a kid with summer camps, after school programs and a school that cost little to nothing. As a leader in ministry I became invested and grew a passion for what I've been doing. I have directed a new summer camp in 2017 and also worked as a bible school teacher in my home church.
For the past year I have been working for little to nothing as a intern in UPW. I did this knowing that I am doing this because of my love for God and the need for my city. Now I am coming into a new season where my finances are crucial to my advancement. Because I have not been gaining financially in the past year I am struggling to pay for my college expenses which are the following:
(Room) – $6,000
(Board) – $4,000
(Air fare)- $1,500
(Laptop & Books) - $1,000
(Other required fees) – $2,500
Total= $15,000

If I reach this I will be able to focus on what God has called me to do in college. Being financially stable for the upcoming year is a stepping stone to eventually make a change. I want to ultimately help others shape their perspective of the gospel. To do that effectively, I must be educated and MBI is the place God wants me to be.
This is another challenge that I will get through in my life because of my faith and what God can do! So I am reaching out to others to help me get through this first year and ultimately anything that I receive will be given back to you 10 fold in the Kingdom! Thank you again !
