Ludicrous Lynx Fight Children's Cancer!

The Ludicrous Lynx is a 5-girl middle-school Destination Imagination team that chose to Fight Children's Cancer! for their 2013-14 Service Learning challenge.  Winning the support of Unity Church-Unitarian in St. Paul as their Community Partner, the Lynx raised $1,567 dollars for the Children's Cancer Research Fund (CCRF) in March of this year.  CCRF is a national nonprofit that supports pioneering efforts at the University of Minnesota in research related to the prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and cure of childhood cancers.  Because CCRF matches every dollar raised with $15-$20 from their national grant program, the Lynx effectively garnered over $23,000 for children's cancer research!

And:  In April this year, the Lynx took first place in the Destination Imagination state tournament, in the Project Outreach Middle-School category!  Their 8-minute presentation of their project includes an original script of a play, with original characters, and one original song sung in 3 part harmony!!  And they got 80% of the possible 240 points for this central challenge (trust me, that's high!).

Can you help pay for the Lynx to go to Knoxville Tennessee at the end of May to compete in the 2014 DI Global Finals?  Registration and food/housing for the week will cost the team about $5,600.  Unfortunately, the Lynx, because they are now split between two schools, do not have funding from any PTO or other school organization. :(
