My Senior Year Abroad in Japan

Hello, I am Lidia Valencia and I would be privileged if you would help me achieve my dreams.
I have been interested in Japanese culture and language ever since I was 12 years old. I found ways to teach myself the language while still in middle school, where my friends and I tested the waters on new languages. Once I entered high school, one of the language studies offered was Japanese. I fought to get into the program and have now studied Japanese for three years. The next step for me to obtain fluency is to be immersed in the language and culture.
I have been offered the opportunity to study abroad in Tokyo, Japan for my senior year in high school through CIEE. The program itself costs 12,995, including airfare and lodging throughout the stay, but does not cover any additional travel, personal expenses or extracurricular school activities. I will be in Japan from January 19, 2018 to June 24, 2018.
When I return, I will attend college in the United States, where I will have scholarships and other funding options available to me. Unfortunately, there are few scholarships or funding available for high school abroad programs, which is why I am turning to the public to help me out.
I am so grateful for your assistance in helping me accomplish my dreams. Our world is a fragile place. I promise to use my knowledge to promote world unity and understanding between cultures.
