I am the mother of two of the most amazing daughters anyone could ask for (Ava 15yr & Daniella 13yr). Our family has been through our fair share of challenges throughout the past 10 years (including the sudden loss of my father & having to start from scratch), but this one will be the hardest fight yet. I was diagnosed on April 4th with cancer after incidentally finding a mass while in an unrelated procedure. I put myself through Gwynedd Mercy University in my mid-30’s to obtain my BSN and become a nurse: something that I have always been passionate about. I have been working FT as an ICU RN at Grand View Hospital (and 4yr as a Telemetry RN). I love being able to help and care for others; unfortunately, I now find myself on the other side-as the patient. I am expecting a long road ahead of us filled with tests, surgeries, chemo, and radiation. Most of these costs will not be covered under my health insurance plan, so it will be a lot of out-of-pocket expenses. Our family would really appreciate any help to assist with covering costs of medical bills while I’m out of work over this process. I promise to fight this thing as hard and as long as I have to for my children and loved ones.
