A Fight Against Multiple Sclerosis

Don protégé
Hello everyone, My name is Jose and I am Leslie's older brother. Growing up I was always taught to look after my little sister. My sister is 19 years old just started college this year and was recently diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis.

For those who are unaware of the disease, Multiple sclerosis (MS) is an unpredictable, long lasting and disabling disease that can affect your brain, spinal cord, and the optic nerves in your eyes. It can cause problems with vision, balance, muscle control, and other basic body functions. MS happens when your immune system (Which normally helps to fight infections) attacks a fatty material called myelin, which wraps around your nerve fibers to protect them. Without this outer shell, your nerves become damaged. The damage means your brain can’t send signals through your body correctly. Your nerves also don’t work as they should to help you move and feel.

My sister is young, ambitious and caring. She is currently studying to be a nurse and is full of hopes and dreams. Although Ive always taught her to be strong and have faith, This tough reality makes it hard for her to continue.

There is currently no cure available for this rare disease. Many people like my sister take medication that helps to slow down the progression of the disease but ultimately catches up to them.  Ever since I got the news that my sister had MS I have indulged myself into the MS community and have not stopped researching the best diets, lifestyles and treatments to fight MS. It was recently that I reached out to a complete stranger on instagram by the name of Ebony Alexis Cross (@ipush4ms) that prays and inspires people with MS to wake up and take on the challenges they face everyday. She has not only been the source of inspiration for me and my sister but has also been the means of how I found this stem cell treatment center that uses adipose-derived stem cells (from fat tissue) to help slow down this disease.

Adipose-derived stem cell treatment has the ability to address both fundamental causes of the disease by selectively homing to areas in the body and completely repair the damage that MS has caused to her nervous system.

Leslie's MRI currently shows 12 lesions on her brain and I worry that time will not be on her side and eventually put her in a wheelchair.  I am hoping that this procedure could help my sister fight MS and bring good health and happiness into her life.

Thank you for taking the time to visit this page and reading about our story. I truly appreciate all the generosity and support that is coming from everyone. Every prayer, share and contribution is a blessing.

From the bottom of my heart thank you so much,
