Help a future Veterinarian pursue her dreams

My name is Raquel Huber, I am striving toward my lifelong dream of becoming a Veterinarian. I am currently a Veterinary Technician in Southern California, and I work for my family’s private veterinary practice. I grew up with my father being a Veterinarian and was raised in a hospital environment. I have worked as a technician for over 10 years, and my entire life has always revolved around animals.   Since I was a little girl, becoming a veterinarian has always been my dream. My father is my biggest inspiration.  He is a wonderful doctor who is very passionate and great at what he does. He has given me incredible skills, knowledge and an insane passion for this field. I truly believe that I have a gift and calling to become a Veterinarian.
I am currently a full-time student working to finish my bachelor’s degree and then I will apply to vet school.  I am also focusing on gaining more experience in other fields of veterinary medicine to broaden my knowledge on all the opportunities this career has to offer. Getting experience in zoology, livestock, conservation, research, and much more is crucial to understanding the full spectrum of being a Veterinarian.
I have my first study abroad trip setup for July of 2020, to go to Belize for an ecology and conservation course. We will be monitoring protected manatees, dolphins, native yellow headed parrots, and many other beautiful indigenous species and cultures of Belize. I am raising money to help financially support myself on my studies abroad. Any donations are appreciated and helpful!
