**UPDATE**
On July 2, 2020, after four weeks of amazing progress at home following a successful surgery and rehab for below the knee amputation, Sanders Green suffered two heart attacks and passed away. This comes as a huge blow to Janel and Sanders, Jr. because he was recovering so well over the previous month. 100% of previously raised funds were used to make major changes to their home for Sanders accessibility needs. Future funds raised will go towards hospital bills, funeral expenses and other related end-of-life expenses. Please consider donating to help Janel and her family in their time of need.
Janel is the Executive Director and co-founder of the Georgia Alliance for Social Justice, as well as the Executive Director of a senior living facility on the Atlanta area. She has been instrumental in leading and supporting social justice activism in metro Atlanta, most notably as one of the co-organizers of the Atlanta March for Women and Social Justice. She works tirelessly to make Atlanta, and all of Georgia a safer, more equitable home for all its residents. Much of her work is behind the scenes, advising and working with community leaders, elected officials, and concerned citizens to drive meaningful change.
