My name is Forrest Falk and I was in a devastating motorcycle accident on the I-405 in Los Angeles on September 3, 2015.  I was rushed to UCLA Medical Center and had two emergency surgeries done to repair my open femur fracture and crushed ankle.  When I woke up, the neurologist was standing over me and said I would never walk again.  She told me I had also experienced a burst fracture of T4 and T5 in my spine rendering me a complete paraplegic, unable to move or feel below the nipple line in my chest.  I played the words over and over in my head.  My life as I knew it was over.  Six months later, I still have not regained feeling, bowel or bladder function.  Every day and every task is a constant struggle.    

During rehab at Craig Hospital, my fiancé Nicole and I took a trip to Vail, CO.  While there, a woman approached us from the skiing disability center.  She told us she used to be a quadriplegic and had undergone stem cell treatment in New Delhi, India with Dr. Geeta Shroff.  Skeptical at first, we read through all of her published papers and Skyped with several Australians who had undergone this treatment in India.  They said they had much improvement in mobility, no longer had to use catheters, and could walk with leg braces.  We were in touch with Dr. Shroff right away and arranged plans for treatment May to July 2016.  Each treatment costs $45,000 plus travel accommodations and takes place over the course of 8 weeks in New Delhi, India.  I will not know how many treatments I will need until I see how much function I regain.  Treatments are not covered by insurance since this type of therapy is not offered in the US.
