Our buddy Gavin is on his way to Brazil to take in the World Cup.
When I first moved into the Chateau in my early 20's I threw myself a birthday party (yeah, sad). I bought my own keg, invited folks, and threw out a donation jar to recoup some of the money. Gav arrived late, pulled me aside and handed me about $100 bucks. He'd picked up an extra day of work so he could buy my birthday keg, this while saving for his own trip to Chamonix, France. This after having known me for only a few months.
We all have a Gavin story like this, he spends time providing experiences, gathering people together, and generally being Gav, which is pretty cool. His job is taking care of people on the mountain. Like most things he does he excels at it but saving lives and limbs is not lucrative work unless you're an MD.
In his world you sleep when you're dead and the greatest sin you can commit is denying yourself a cultural experience. It'd be pretty cool if we could help him experience one.
