As you all know Marla Blake went into the hospital on Thursday August 3rd as she apparently collapsed at home on Wednesday evening and could not move her legs or arms. When she came to, she managed to call 911 to come take her to the emergency room.
The medical team at Gwinnett Medical was not sure what caused this to happen but finally decided that Marla had an inflamation in her spine which caused her to lose the use of her arms and legs. She was released to the Joan Glancy Rehabilitation Center in Duluth, GA but has gone back to the hospital three more times with other complications. The week of September 25th was really her first full week of rehab she has completed and she is starting to move both of her legs and arms now but is back in the hospital again with complications. She still has a long way to go before she can begin walking. I am glad to report, as you all know, in true Marla fashion she is fighting and is not about to give up.
As you can imagine, the medical bills are piling up and none of us are ever prepared for these types of things to happen. Marla's daughter, Brittney came down from New York about five weeks ago and has made arrangements for Marla to move to Flordia where Marla's sister and mother now live. This will happen once she gets out of rehab but we still do not know how long that will be.
We are starting this fund to help Marla get back on her feet financially once she recovers. Greenlight Tax Group is prepared to match, dollar for dollar, your contributions to this fund up to $6000.00.
