Girls on outdoor Adventure for Leadership and Science (GALS) - 2022

Dr. Boeing and 4 graduate students from New Mexico State University will take high school girls (grades 9-12) into the Gila Wilderness on a backpacking / camping adventure and to conduct a science project for a week. Our aim is to have girls, who are underrepresented in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Math; low-income families, minorities) and have not previously had the opportunity to experience the outdoors while pushing their own physical and mental boundaries. This program increases confidence and leadership.

We are paying about $ 400 per participant!

Any money that may be raised beyond our goal will go towards endowing the program, so we won't have to fundraise every year!
