Olivia's Medical Fund

On Tuesday, Feb. 6, Olivia was diagnosed with ASD which is a heart defect that her family was unaware of.  It means she essentially has a hole in her heart.  As a result, a clot broke free and headed up to Olivia's brain.  It broke into several pieces and traveled to smaller vessels in her brain.  She suffered a stroke on the right side of her brain and experienced cross-lateral paralysis on her left side.  

Olivia is the daughter of a 6th grade teacher at our school site.  She is only 14 years old and a freshman in high school.  Right now, Olivia and her family need financial assistance for upcoming extra medical costs, money for gas to get to and from the hospital, money for babysitting for Olivia's younger brother while her parents are visiting her or trying to catch up with their own jobs during this trying time, as well as cash for food on the go since their schedules will be hectic.  

Right now, Olivia is doing better with regards to the stroke.  Her family is talking with neurologists to deal with the effects of the stroke, along with cardiologists to make plans for the upcoming surgery to repair her heart, and then to get her through rehab.
