On the eve of August 4, 2017 Eric had been out for a walk and was struck by a vehicle going a speed of 50 MPH. He was taken to the trauma unit where he was diagnosed with broken legs, head trauma, spinal cord injuries, and a fractured arm among other injuries. One week later he was told he would be partially paralyzed for the rest of his life. When he was taken off his breathing tube, we expected the worse. To our surprise, Eric decided to fight and continues to do so.
Eric is married with one daughter (15 years old) and one step daughter (6 years old). He is also a son, step son, brother, uncle, and a friend to many. Construction and detailed woodworking was his passion, unfortunately he can no longer work in these fields as he is now an incomplete quadriplegic.
It has now been over 3 months and he has never gone home. He is in a Spinal Cord Injury Rehab Center and is working hard on his therpay every day. There have been many improvements as he continues to fight. We don't know what the future holds but would like him home soon.
Our family is asking for help at this time. Since his accident, Eric has no income to help with bills and everyday living costs. Upon his discharge, there will be special devices required to make his life easier and insurance does not cover this. We understand that everyone is not able to make a contribution. We appreciate any help that you can give and ask that you please share this page if possible. Please continue to pray for Eric to stay strong.
