Erickson Family Fire
Donation protected
Last weekend was a hot one. Unfortunately, just hot enough to burn my sister Stephanie and her family's garage down. About 95% of all the garage's contents were lost. And as Murphy's Law would have it, rent was raised the day before.
Amongst the damage, unfortunately, were priceless, irreplaceable family heirlooms and cherish childhood items. Including, but not limited to, the things lost were: Stephanie's grandmothers jewelry, the loves of her life which were her childhood stuffed bunny, baby blanket and stuffed puppy - in which there is no amount of money that would equate to their value to her. Blake's father's only childhood memories were on 8mm tapes which were also lost. The majority of Vincent's early childhood toys and memories of their baby shower were also damaged. This is only the surface of what was stored in their typical American style garage.
Their financial burden consists of the following:
-Clean up, renting a dumpster ~$500
-Insurance deductible $2,500
-Raised rent ~$150
-Cash value of assets lost: ~$3,000-$4,000
-Vincent's new bike: ~$90
-Blake's, recently invested, work tools/material ~$1000
-Washer and Dryer: ~$1500
-Personal items and family heirlooms: ~$Priceless
The cause of fire is not yet known. The Friedland-Erickson family is a hard-working and loving family who has been struggling recently and the fire is honestly a major catastrophe for them. Please keep them in your hearts and minds while, however small or large, physical or monetary donations to help them cover their loss and costs to rebuild are welcomed and truly appreciated.
Thank you for your support in this difficult time.
Sincerely,
Blake, Stephanie and Vincent
