Donate to Californias Largest Ever Fire: Dixie
Hi, my name is Raj Bapat and I am a high school student at Palo Alto High School in the Bay Area. Over this last summer, I went on many camping trips. In particular, my experience in Lassen Volcanic National Park this summer was one of the greatest I have ever had in any national park. I have great memories of time spent visiting the amazing hot springs, relaxing on the banks of Lake Manzanita, and in Greenville, the town that we called home for that weekend. When I first heard of the destruction that was caused by the fire, I was overcome with a sense of loss and grief. However, my feelings were nothing compared residents of Greenville, many of which have lost everything. The devastation is of an unimaginable magnitude.
THE DIXIE FIRE
The Dixie fire is now the largest non-complex fire in the history of California and growing. It destroyed the beautiful gold rush town of Greenville and has burnt through more than half of Lassen National Park already.
IMMEDIATE NEED
The fire has displaced hundreds of people from their homes, in need of finding a roof over their families and meeting the most basic needs. The are still in shock and grief and are in urgent need of help.
YOUR DONATIONS
We created this fund to get immediate support for the great community of Greenville and surrounding areas. All money raised will be donated directly to the Plumas Bank Dixie Fire Fund set up for these communities.
Here's a heartbreaking picture of the main street in Greenville.
