Batten Disease is a rare, termianl disease that has no cure, no treatment, and is always fatal. It affects children and adults alike and causes a severe regression of all abilities. It leaves the affected bed ridden, using a feeding tube, with uncontrollable movements and seizures, takes away vision, and requires high doses of medication just for comfort. Children do not survive past childhood. This disease tries to steal our hope but we hold on, praying and dreaming of the day when a cure is found.
