My Son Has Been Taken Home to His Heavenly Father

Hi my name is Anita D’Hondt. My son Brett Forester passed away on Sunday January 4th at 0720. My one and only child has been taken home to be with his Heavenly Father at the young age of 22 years. I’m trying to raise funds for his cremation/ burial/ headstone and memorial (Celebration of Life) which will be held in the summer. The reason for waiting this long to have the memorial is that my overall health has declined which needs further investigating. I have chronic health conditions that will require a long time to try and recover. I have not been able to work for 6 years so money is tight. The reason for cremation is to have him close to me and if I was to move then I can bring him with me and bury him wherever I end up.

The obituary tells all about Brett’s amazing characteristics! He wished to die at home and this was granted with me by his side. I whispered in his ear that was okay to go home as he suffered long enough and that Gramps and mom would be alright. Then a few hours later he took his last breath even though his vitals just hours before were consistent with the many months prior to that. Brett was an amazing person who never complained and always cared about others above himself. In the beginning he was scared to die but as time went on he was able to wrap his head around it. He had a great sense of humour even near the end of his life. We talked a lot about many different topics but the most important one was about God… Brett believed in Him and asked God into his heart so he could be saved. Brett knew that he was going to Heaven. He had to endure a lot of suffering during his cancer journey but Brett persevered through it all and I’ve never seen such strength. God was there granting Brett the strength to “NEVER GIVE UP” which became Brett’s motto. Brett had an amazing friendship with God. So many people were praying for Brett and myself, even people who didn’t know us but I wanted to thank everyone from the bottom of my heart for their time and effort in doing so… it has meant everything to us! Brett is looking down on us smiling as he is finally at peace now! I know that one day I will see him again in Heaven and I’ll be able to hold him in my arms!
Please continue to pray for my health if you can. If you’re able to help me out financially that would be a blessing! God bless all of you!
