Beautiful Jodie inside & out

Hi my name is Francesca and we're here to raise money for my beautiful friend Jodie by doing 15,000 steps a day in June with my daughter Emily (aged 11)…….

Here’s Jodie's story….

On Wednesday the 10th of April 2024,

Jodie suffered a devastating stroke which paralysed the right-hand side of her body, arm and leg; and left her with some speech difficulties.

At just 35 years of age this was a complete shock to Jodie and everyone else around her!

After several days in hospital Jodie finally came home to her daughter Georgie (aged 11) and they moved in with her mum for a few weeks.

The hospital began physiotherapy and speech therapy just a few days after the stroke hit, to start the work on Jodie’s gradual recovery.

Over the following days and week's Jodie has regained her speech, particularly when she is rested, now able to drive again and she's been able to move back home with her daughter Georgie and start to begin to live a somewhat normal life again.

But unfortunately Jodie is still unable to go back to her full-time job which has left her in a very difficult financial situation.

Recovery is challenging and very slow, expected to take many months.
