Friends of Alex Shulder

This is 8 yr old Alex Shulder,  the beloved grandson of Pam (Fishberg) Shulder who works at Temple Isaiah. This past December, Alex was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) which is a form of blood cancer that can progress quickly if not detected early and treated aggressively. Fortunately, the family saw the symptoms early and got Alex treatment immediately. The prognosis is very good but the treatment will be long (typically over three years) and arduous. Alex has been taken out of school for the rest of the year and has already gone through several rounds of chemo and other treatments which must be scary and confusing for an 8 yr old child.

On top of all this, Alex's father was laid off from his longtime job a few weeks before Alex's diagnosis. While this has been a blessing in disguise of sorts, since Adam has been able to be right by Alex's side during the treatments, it obviously has had a substantial impact on the family's finances. Without some help, the family will have difficulty paying for basic living expenses, co-pays and deductibles, and simple everyday activities that we all take for granted.

In an effort to help the Shulder family and alleviate some of the financial stress during this extremely trying time, we ask the Temple Isaiah community and anyone who is touched by their situation, to make a donation to the "Friends of Alex" campaign . All proceeds will go directly to the Shulders to assist them during this difficult time. We greatly appreciate anything you can offer to assist Pam's grandson and his family in this time of need.
