The Academy Swim Team Defense Fund

Air Force Academy Swimmers urgently need your support!  In February of 2018, 11 upperclassmen were suspended from the Men's Team because of hazing-related claims. Eight of those swimmers are either on probation and pending administrative disposition.  Finally, two have been criminally charged and are facing Court Martial. 

Garret Lynn, while not criminally charged, is still waiting for administrative disposition.  He has paid significant civilian legal fees to help support his defense from administrative charges and punishments.  Michael Hannigan is criminally charged with hazing-related charges and is pending a Court Martial. 

As team parents (2017-2018) for the Men's swim team, we are in email contact with the families of those cadets who are affected, including our son Michael Hannigan.  Funds will be dispersed to Garret first.  After Garret's needs are met, we will make distributions to ourselves for legal expenses made for Michael's legal fees.

Funds will remain in GoFundMe until receipts for legal expense are provided.  Distribution of funds will be transferred to our private bank account and then disbursed to Garret's Venmo account.  As available and with receipts, remaining funds will be used to pay for Michael Hannigan's legal bills.
