Leila’s Vet Bills
Spende geschützt
Hello, my name is Lexie and I have a wonderful 2 year old golden doodle Leila. She began
to stop eating for a few days and was sleeping a lot. We were in contact with the local vet and tried a few medications, but her back legs began to become weak and uncoordinated. She was clearly in pain. I brought her to the emergency vet hospital and by the time we were there she couldn’t walk. They brought her back in a stretcher and I learned she was im critical condition and her heart almost stopped due to her dehydration and potassium levels. The vet later called me and told me based off of the blood work she was highly suspicious of Addisons Disease. This was later confirmed. This disease affects the adrenal glands and hormone cortisol production. She was born with it, and there was a trigger to put her in a addisonian crisis. This results from an acute deficiency of adrenal hormones which can be fatal. Leila was later transferred once she was stable to a 24 hour Emergency Veterinarian Hospital. Here she was put back on fluids and watched with around the clock care for two days and one night. She rebounded thankfully and came home today! She is such a strong girl.
Leila will need a monthly injection for the rest of her life. This being said I want to make sure I can provide all the care she needs. My fellow dog parents can understand how expensive getting your baby the love and care they need. Even my fellow parents of human babies can understand.
Leila’s story is just beginning, and I am so beyond grateful for all of your support. I am so grateful to her for pushing so hard to fight this disease.
We appreciate all and any donation to help us i’m this next part of our journey.
Im manifesting for all of your babies to be healthy and happy.
