the story of alejandro's new heart

i am creating this page of behalf of my twenty nine year old husband alejandro arreola. he is a wonderful father to our three beautiful girls , maria 8, jayla 6 and ciela 4 . our journey began when alejandro was diagnosed with dilated cardiomyoplathy in april of 2011 and underwent bypass surgery in where his widow maker was discovered to be 100% blocked. in august of 2011 he received a pacemaker and in august of 2012 underwent surgery again at uk medical center for an lvad ( pump for heart to prepare for transplantation). in february of 2013 he was placed on the transplant. over the course of the next year we drove back and forth to lexington for alejandro's appointments. on april the 15th 2014 we got the call that we'd been hoping and praying for. they had found a heart that matched alejandro. thankfully the transplant was a success and with a few bumps in the road he's on his way to recovery. as you can imagine the countless number of trips to lexington is quite costly and now we've been informed that the safe apartment we thought alejandro would be getting won't be covered and we will be forced to come up with more money for a discounted hotel. as you can imagine this along with traveling and expenses for when he comes home is costly. plus future travel expenses for check ups. we feel truly blessed and appreciative to have such wonderful loving family and friends. you're continued prayers and any contributions you make will be truly treasured . thank you so much and god bless, sarah , alejandro maria, jayla & ciela
