retain divorce attorney

Friends, 



In an effort to resolve once and for all what has become an intolerably long and uncertain separation, and to protect my interests in the divorce, it is now clear that I need my own attorney.  Though I am 99% certain that he will have to cover my legal fees, I need to come up with $2000 up front to retain a divorce attorney. Rather than continuing to wait to hear from his lawyer, I want to go on the offensive instead of cowering in fear of his next move. I may not win but at least I'll be in the driver's seat. 

I need to put this creep in the rearview mirror and get on with my life.

If you're so inclined, I would be ever so grateful for a wee bit of financial help. Please, don't give more than you can comfortably give and please don't feel bad if you can't give anything. Most everyone I know is going through hard times right now and your friendship is worth so much more to me than money.
