Help Jessica fight for justice!

Hello, my name is Jessica and I’m reaching out today in hopes that you will hear my story and choose to support my journey in whatever way you can.

On December 3, 2024 I was wrongfully terminated from my position at the bakery I’ve poured my blood, sweat and tears into since the beginning of 2015 - taking leaves of absence only to grow my family.

After returning from Maternity Leave in 2024 I was surprised with a change to my terms of employment only 6 weeks after returning to work. At this time, I was only beginning to get use to being away from my 12-month-old daughter and the responsibilities of balancing the needs of my family with the demands of being a full-time working mom.

It was brought to my attention, without notice or negotiation, that I would be taken off the security of salary and moved to a hourly rate, with sick-day coverage also being taken away. My health benefit coverage would also be decreased, causing me to pay out of pocket.

After raising concerns about discrimination to the company, I was promptly terminated the following day.

I struggled over Christmas and am still feeling absolutely heartbroken over the situation. Fortunately, I received support from family to help during this transition and was still able to secure a new job when I feared it would be impossible to do so.

It is now that I am seeking legal assistance to help me take the next steps in fighting for justice. I have been working with an employment lawyer and am at the point where I will need to secure a $2500.00 retainer in order to move forward with legal action.

Never did I think I would be in these shoes, but here I am.

What was done to me was wrong - accountability and an apology are all I ask.
