80 yo Navy Vet robbed and beaten
Donación protegida
Al Turchetti, an 80 year old US Navy veteran was brutally attacked and robbed by thugs as he came out of a local bank with a substantial amount of cash. This money was earmarked to repay a loan, Al's and his wife Cheryl's rent, utilities and living expenses for the month which were due yesterday. These needs are immediate. He also will have doctors bills for follow up care from his injuries. Al is recovering from recent eye surgery and is on Medicare. It is a loss that the family cannot recover from without your help.
Al is a friend who I have known for over 7 years and has helped me and our entire neighborhood with hundreds of projects over the past 7 years doing yard cleanups, painting and handyman work for families across Newport and Middletown. He is a proud member of the Saint Paul's Masonic Lodge in Middletown, RI and has lived a life of service in the Navy, and as a restaurateur, groundskeeper and handyman here on Aquidneck Island.
Please be generous in your support to the Turchetti family as his friends make plans for local fundraisers in Newport to help the Turchetti family recover from this senseless act of brutality against a good man.
For those that cannot support Al with cash, help with transportation, taxi, Uber and Lyft rides and grocery gift cards are appreciated. Ill set up a PO Box later today to accept these gifts.
