YWAM (Youth with a Mission)

This past year has been one full of many ups and downs. I’ve learned many things about myself, and about the God we serve. I’ve most especially learned that His timing is best and His plans are better than my own. Through much prayer and counseling I’ve heard God clearly calling me into something bigger than myself. He is calling me into the mission field for the next step in my journey. I did much research and found peace in my decision to attend YWAM (youth with a mission) in Orlando, FL this upcoming fall. This is a 6 month program where I will spend 3 months training through God’s word and then 3 additional months being sent overseas to minister to the unreached and share with them His story for their lives.

While I am in this disciple training program I can choose between a few different tracks of how to go about doing this. The track that I personally have chosen is worship arts. I believe God has given me the gift of music and leadership and I can be his vessel when reaching others through this gift. Through this experience I realize how incredibly privileged I have been to grow up in a Christian home and to constantly not just hear His message but be able to live it out in my life. It breaks my heart to know there are those who have never witnessed this, and those who haven’t been told the hope they can have for their lives and future. I’ve never felt more at peace with a decision that I don’t know the outcome of (if you know anything about me, I’m a big step-by-step, detailed person) but I trust God will be watching over me and the work I will be doing.

While this is an amazing opportunity it is very costly. For the entire 6 month journey, the cost is roughly $10,000 depending on where I am sent out. I’ll be working towards this goal this summer, but I can use all the support I can get. Whether that be financial support or prayer and encouragement to me, I appreciate and am grateful to whatever you are able to give.
