Emergency Appeal

My friend Khaled has updated his letter of plea kindly help his family once more .

Almost a year has passed since the war began. This year has passed as if it were a thousand years, as if we had spent our entire lives in this cursed war. We lost so much—my brother, my grandmother, and many of our cousins. And finally, we lost our home just a week ago, on September 15. It was a small apartment, barely big enough for us. But it was warm, full of love, and welcomed everyone. They destroyed our little apartment, and my family fled to tents, to the long, cold nights. My family fled into the unknown. We launched this link so you could help us escape. But now, there is no longer a way out; they have closed the borders and blocked all the roads. Today, we ask for help again, so we can buy food, so we don't die of hunger. Please don't leave us alone.

My name is Khaled, and I am writing to you with a heavy heart, seeking urgent assistance for my family who are currently trapped in Gaza. The situation they are facing is nothing short of dire, and I am reaching out to you for support in these incredibly challenging times.

I left Gaza in August 2018, with hopes of a better future for my family and myself. Little did I know that my departure would coincide with the beginning of a series of devastating events that would forever change the lives of my loved ones. My brother Yasser, whom I longed to meet, tragically lost his life during the heavy bombing on October 7th, leaving behind a void that can never be filled.

Now, more than ever, I am filled with a sense of urgency to reunite with my family and ensure their safety. The thought of losing them, like I lost my dear brother, weighs heavily on my mind every single day. My elderly father, who is in his sixties, and my mother, who battles diabetes daily, along with my four siblings, are enduring unimaginable hardships amidst the ongoing conflict in Gaza.

Following the loss of Yasser, my family has been forced to evacuate their home multiple times, fleeing for their lives amid the chaos of the conflict. Eventually, they had no choice but to seek refuge in different shelters, resulting in their painful separation. They have only been able to reunite once since then,

Yasser was not just a brother to me; he was my closest confidant and the sole breadwinner for our family. His absence has left a void that cannot be filled, and the burden of supporting my family now falls heavily upon my shoulders.

As I pen down these words, I am overwhelmed with worry for my family's well-being. Necessities like food and shelter have become luxuries, and the constant threat of death looms over their heads every moment.

I am reaching out to you, in a plea for help. I humbly ask for your support in evacuating my family from the turmoil of Gaza as soon as possible. We urgently need to raise $65,000 to facilitate their safe passage out of the region and provide them with the opportunity for a better, safer life.

Your generosity and compassion during this critical time would mean the world to me and my family. Every contribution, no matter how small, brings us one step closer to ensuring their safety and well-being.
