Steven was diagnosed with Moyamoya Disease (a disease of the arteries in the brain) in May 2013. He underwent brain surgery in August 2013. He developed a seizure disorder and had a small stroke 3 days after surgery. Steven has great care at Stanford but as the days go on he continues to go downhill. He now has hand tremors, muscle spams, is losing alot of his skills, his legs are giving out on him and he is falling, and he is sleeping all the time. While we continue his medical care through Stanford we will be traveling to Boston Children's this summer to get a second opinion and hopefully get my boy fixed. This has been a difficult decision for us. However, after having a long discussion with his pediatrican, Steven is no where near his baseline and it is time to get a second opinion.
