In Memory of Grandpa Mike

Hi, my name is Rey, and I'm Mike's grandchild. Mike passed from a surprise heart attack on March 9, leaving behind his wife of 40+ years, his two children, and his grandchild (me). I'm organizing this fundraiser to raise money for his wife, my grandmother, so she can take some time off work in order to grieve this sudden, tragic loss, and potentially pay for any funerary costs.

Mike was an amazing man, who supported his family no matter what. While his eldest daughter, my mother, had bone cancer, he would drive her to get radiation treatments every single day. He took care of the home while my grandmother worked, and always had a good word of advice for us youngsters. He was an avid Trekkie like myself, and enjoyed going on adventures, whether that be beach hikes, whitewater rafting, or driving all across the Northwest. He would always try to laugh at our jokes, no matter how ridiculous or stupid they were.

He was also the closest thing I've ever had to a father, since I lost mine before I haven't had mine in my life since I was less than two years old. He filled that role perfectly, even coming to the Daddy-Daughter Dance, which one could tell was far too much glitter and frills for him, but he made an exception for his grandbaby, who he spoiled rotten at every opportunity.

He was a good man, and the perfect grandpa, and he will be missed by all. Please consider donating so that his wife can grieve this sudden loss, without having to worry about taking care of household expenses.
