AMAZING AIMEE Help me WALK Again!!
Don protégé
Wow! Aimee was every parents dream child, loving, caring, helpful and always reached out to help others. During Aimees high school years she always kept busy. From being the treasurer of her Agawam Class 2003 to playing sports, was a member of Atheletes in Motion, set up blood drives, worked at our local farm Cecchis and always had a smile on her face. She was a National Honor Student in High School and on the Deans list in College at Framingham State University, where she was studying to become an early education teacher. Passed all the teacher requirement tests and her student teaching was all set up then in a matter of hours her life as she knew it changed. In 2006 Aimee was complaining of massive stomach and head pains, and within hours she was life flighted to Brighams and Womens Hospital in Boston, MA. Aimee got sicker as days passed, they suspected and infection and was diagnosed with an extremly rare autoimmune disorder called ADEM which only effects four or five people yearly nationwide. Aimee was put into a medically induced coma with brain swelling in an intensive care unit where nurses and doctors worked around the clock for three months to save her life. Aimee came home 8 months later like an infant in an adult body, (caused from tramatic brain injury) Amazingly with Aimees determination and a lot of hard work over the years she has got stronger and fights for her independence on a daily basis. She attends speech, vision, occupational and physical therapy, and her favorite is swimming therapy. Aimees determination is beyond amazing. As Aimees parents we havent given up and through research we found a new program called Project Walk

which is located north of Boston in New Hampshire. We have been going there for the last few months. Aimee works very hard while there for 2 hours a session. Project Walk is a specialized state of the art facillity with very knowledgeable staff to help Aimee regain her mobility, freedom and get her dignity back. She has been making significant strides towards walking and independence. And we believe with determination (which she has) and Project Walks help she will achieve her goals. Project walk unfortunatly isnt covered by insurance and Aimees getting stronger so there letting us know shes capable of 2 or more sessions a week now, to get her to reach her goal which is to WALK again. So we are reaching out to others to help Aimee !!! No donation is to small and 100% of all donations will go to therapy for Aimee! We believe with the help and support from caring people that Aimee will find herself walking sooner than latter !!! Thank You for any help you can offer! Love Aimee, Janet ,Gary!
