Global Health Trip To Peru

My name is Odinaka Anyanwu and I am a second year family medicine resident. 

I am raising funds to travel to Peru to participate in a 2 week medical elective rotation in November. I have a passion for global health and I am excited about this opportunity to offer health services in a resource limited setting, immerse myself in a different health care system and increase my Spanish speaking skills as well!

Before starting residency, with the help of fundraising I was able to travel to Botswana. During this trip I assisted with mobile health initiatives in Botswana. This experience further fueled my interest in international medicine.

The medical elective network is typically comprised of resident’s physicians, nurses, medical students, dentists and physician assistants. In addition to my primary care rotation experience, I will also be participating in weekly community health fairs and intensive medical Spanish language courses.
