A Dog for Jesse

This future heart throb and rock star is Jesse. He was born with a permanent yet preventable birth defect called Fetal Alcohol Syndrome Disorders. His central nervous system was damaged when he was exposed to alcohol during gestation. This developmental challenge makes it difficult to complete tasks you and I take for granted. It's very difficult for Jesse to complete multiple step instructions, read with comprehension and stay focused. The quality of live for children with FASD has improved with the help of service dogs. The dogs help with self regulation, reducing stress and attention to task. Although we were approved for a service dog, we were uncomfortable with the amount we as a family were asked to raise. We have opted to get an appropriate puppy and use a professional trainer to train the puppy up to service level. Would you help?
