Help me be free!

Hello Framily,

Nearly 10 years ago I co-signed on a private loan with a then friend. She or others were paying it just often enough that I didn't have to worry about it going into collections. Sadly, at this time she has defaulted on her payments twice in the last year. This has resulted in my credit score tanking. Tanking hard. 

I have contacted the Loan company to see if I made payments if I could be removed. Since I am the co-signer, I am unable to be removed from the loan unless she, as the borrow, makes the payments on time 100% of the time for a 12 month period. She would then have to initiate the process to remove me as the co-signer as well. 

I am asking for the amount due (with a tiny smidge of rounding) and nothing more.  - Full disclosure, I have bumped up the donation today (5-15-2018) to a flat $3000 from $29Kandchange to cover the fee that GFM charges.

Any help is appreciated so we can help her, as well as me.
