Daynah Needs Your Help

Hi all. My name is Daynah Parker and I am an upcoming sophomore Public Relations major, Spanish minor at Howard University. Howard has been my dream school since 8th grade and produces some of the top media professionals in the country. Despite not being offered any scholarships from the university, I took a leap of faith and decided to attend anyway. My parents and I hoped the money would come once I got to Howard and established myself. I'm not sure how she managed to do it, but my unemployed mother paid for my first year of school. I did my part by making the Dean's List both semesters, securing a 3.6 GPA and applying to different scholarships throughout the school year and during summer break. Currently, my younger sister is entering her freshman year at The University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. Though she received a scholarship covering her first year, my parents now have two children to put through two very expensive, top universities. As of right now, I am on the alternative list at Howard to become a Resident Assistant and have my housing covered. This week, I was informed I was not chosen as one of two recipients to receive a $20,000 renewable scholarship. I only have a certain amount of money saved from my internship this summer, as well as, a thousand dollar scholarship that I earned. Add in whatever my father can contribute and unfortunately, my mother is still unemployed. With that, I am asking for help. My current account balance is $19,805.50. Obviously, I am not expecting to raise all my funds, but any money would help as I plan to head back to Howard on August 17th. I literally have no idea where the money will come from and feel very discouraged writing this.
