Bring Devon Home!

Donation protected
Devon Nelson is a local resident who suffered an aneurism in October of 2023.He has been in the Ottawa Civic Hospital since October 25th. His mother (Lynda) and grandparents have been at his side daily. He is an alumnus of North Grenville District High School and the Kemptville Youth Centre. He is 30 years old and is Kemptville born and raised.

Sadly, Devon’s aneurism has resulted in permanent disability with severe physical and mental challenges. He has been confined to a wheelchair and will require around the clock medical care. The Civic hospital has determined that he can now return home. Unfortunately, his home in Kemptville is not equipped for wheelchair access nor are the two bathrooms accessible for him to go home.

*At this time the Provincial Government does not cover the cost's of what is required for Devon to live at home in a safe environment. The family does not the financial means to support all of Devon's medical equipment costs.*

The items that are needed by the family are the following:
1. A wheelchair ramp into the home
The family has no savings or available funds to provide a safe living environment
2. A bathroom renovation to accommodate his wheelchair.
3. Interior house painting
4. A medical bed
5. A Broda Wheelchair
6. A medical hoist lift
7. Minor electrical work at the home
8. A dumpster to remove old furniture, garbage and construction debris.
9. Metal removal
10. Cleaning volunteers
11. Lawn care volunteers
12. A load of gravel for the driveway to ensure that his wheelchair can maneuver.
13. Lawyer’s hours to obtain proper power of attorney for Devon’s mother.
14. Wheelchair accessible vehicle.

Any amount whether small or large, with help Devon's family provide a safe environment for him. As a community North Grenville has always rallied around those who require immediate help when necessary, Lynda and Devon more than appreciate that can be offered to them in this extremely un-excepted and trying time.

We appreciate any and all Shares on this post to spread the word. #bringdevonhome

Huge thank you to JM Automotive, in Heckston ON for covering legal fee's! This alone helps Devon be one step closer to coming home!
