Helping Joanie Connect
Hi everyone!
Let me give you a bit of background information regarding my role in this
fundraiser:
I met my friend, Joanie, in 1977, where she was an in town resident of Innisfree Village, a community located outside of Charlottesville, Va., for special needs adults. I became a counselor at her house for several years and our friendship has endured for almost 45 years.
Joanie is an extremely creative, multi-talented individual. Her artistic ability and photographic memory are envied by us all. Additionally, she is known by many around Charlottesville for her friendly nature and interest in everything that is going on.
Joanie has not had an easy life. With very little family left, she currently works multiple jobs, including cleaning houses, yet she struggles to get by financially.
Her laptop is on its last leg. It's almost 10 years old and was a gift to her years ago. It's worth noting that her computer is her lifeline to many of the things she loves most: music, art, photography, history, and connections to people.
In my research, I found a laptop that best suits her needs and will provide an easy transition for her, from her old one. While expensive, Consumer Reports gives it high ratings for longevity, ease of use, and significant storage.
Hopefully, we can all rally around my friend, Joanie. My friend, who has shone her light on everyone's path that she has crossed.
We would appreciate anything you're able to give during these uncertain times!
Love,
Suzanne
