Don protégé
Dorian's wonderful mother, Shannon, is in need of a new car. Dorian has a surgery coming up at Westchester Medical Center in February 2016. This is a neurological surgery that will require 2-3 days inpatient care and possible therapies along with follow-ups all in Westchester. Shannon and Dorian are currently staying with Jason and I in Monticello, NY. Her vehicle is in no condition to be transporting herself and incredible son back and forth to this hospital. She needs a safe, reliable vehicle that can handle commuting to appointments for her little guy. This surgery is not his first and will not be his last. Recovery from brain surgery is unpredictable.
For those of you who are unaware, Dorian suffered a traumatic brain injury at 3 months old. He is a survivor of child abuse due to his late father's actions. Since the injury, Shannon has been nothing short of amazing to her son. Because of the extent of Dorian's injuries, Shannon is unable to work outside of the home. She is his full time caregiver, among other things. In the midst of hers and Dorian's hardships, she started Dorian's Gift. This campaign allowed many families to enjoy gifts for the holiday season that otherwise would have been non-existent. Her kindness and generousity is phenomenal.
I understand we are all facing financial hardships of some sort. It is, after all, the world we live in. But every little bit is extremely helpful. Our goal is to find a safe, commuter friendly vehicle that will last awhile. Please find it in your heart to give a little so we can help lift one of her many burdens.
