Send Griffin To Brazil 2014
Donation protected
This February marks the 30th anniversary of the founding of the Brazilian Landless Workers Movement (MST), and it's members will gather for its Sixth National Congress. Through the organization Friends of the MST(FMST), a handful of US organizations have been invited to send delegates to the event. The Vermont Workers Center has nominated me to be their representative at this historic event.
For two years I have been studying the pedagogy and organizational structure of the MST while thinking about how I can be a better movement educator. Their work was a central piece of my Goddard Senior Study, and I am honored to be joining this delegation to Brazil.
Just like our movements can not be won by individuals, I can not do this alone. I am working with a team of workers center leaders to understand how I can best use my time there, and this trip will help build our movement's networks, as well as help us learn from other successful leaders around the globe. We need your support too. Your donation will help cover the costs of travel including tickets, visas, passport, and general travel costs like postcards and food.
Thank you for the support of our communities. This is my trip, but our victories.
