Studying Sweden's Childcare System

My name is Titus Ting. I'm a 2nd year Psychology student in UC Berkeley, and my dream is to work with children as an educational psychologist.I've always loved working with children and I'm trying to learn as much as I can about raising, educating and preparing kids for the big scary world out there.

I'm hoping to go to Sweden to gain a first-hand experience of the amazing welfare system and childcare programs that they provide. Scandinavian countries are world-renowned for their preschools, child-care centers and daycare centers. I aim to go in the summer of 2014, from June till August, to immerse myself in their culture and hopefully bring back some useful and revolutionary ideas about the way children learn and grow.

One day I'd like to start my own childcare, teaching children how to be the best grown-ups that the world needs. I think it's so important. That's why I'm hoping to be able to go for this trip and learn, however much I possibly can, about the things that are important to me. Every little bit of contribution helps, and I want you to know that I am deeply thankful and grateful for your support and faith in me.

All donations will go towards covering the course fee(US$6,900) and the airplane ticket fee(US$2,000). The course fee includes tuition, lodging, and one meal a day. The program I'm signing up for is called the Uppsala International Summer Sessions (UISS), and their website can be found here:http://www.uiss.org/index.php/en/. I'm hoping to go for the 9-week session, lasting from June 15th to August 15th.
