Help my sister FIGHT cancer!

My name is Carolyn and I have decided to start a GoFundMe for my sister Cathy. She has been recently diagnosed with a type of cancer that affects her liver and bile ducts known as cholangiocarcinoma, this type of cancer is uncommon and particularly rare due to her young age. Her initial diagnosis and prognosis has been bleak with her oncologist giving her approximately 1 year to live and a treatment plan of palliative chemotherapy only. Cathy and her family are not willing to accept this path and have been doing research and networking that has given her the opportunity to go to the best Cancer Institute in the country and see the best doctors who specialize in her type of cancer. The initial cost for a new patient at this hospital is in the tens of thousands of dollars. She will also be facing the potential of costly out of network treatments. She and, us as her family, are reaching out to those who care about her to see if they can help in anyway they can. Cathy wants the opportunity to fight this disease, not just sit back and wait for it to take her. She wants to spend as many birthdays as she can with her 7 year old son Archer.
