Carl Need 24/7-I Can’t Alone Anymore
Donation protected
Hi. As many of you know, my dad has been sick for a while and his health recently took a dive. He is now on hospice care at home, which means, I have been taking care of him at home. I am very happy to do it. It’s just that the last week has been especially challenging since he has become bed bound and it’s been a lot for me physically to manage alone. The VA is checking into facilities, but those places look like hospital wards and very cold, sterile environment and got low ratings. Hospice agency told me about a place called Care House that is the only non profit in Los Angeles County that is hospice only and it’s in a house, it is so beautiful..you feel like you are at home and the volunteers make sure you are well taken care of and have everything you need. The great thing too is that it happens to be very close to us so we could visit all the time! The kids expressed that they are not comfortable seeing their grandpa in his state and would get freaked if he passed in the house. I have been out of work on leave to help care for dad..that means my last check pause through 5/2. I have to go back to work in a week - 2 max. This place - Caring House - runs solely on donations and it costs them $500/day to operate. They are so dedicated to caring for end of life patients that they offer a sliding scale. I am asking for your help..anything you can comfortably give to help me get dad into this home. Normal cost for 2 weeks is $5300, so I’ve made that the goal. I am hoping to offer them $2500 for two weeks and that would allow dad a 1 month stay. It’s not a comfortable thing to talk about, but hospice is a short term thing, so our financial commitment is only short term!Always contact me if you have any questions or just want to talk or talk to dad. Check them out..see photos) at https://yourcaringhouse.org/Thank you so much,Carlyn [phone redacted]
