Diabetic Alert Dog for Alexa Lambert

Hi, my name is Alexa Lambert. I am 16 years old and have had Type 1 diabetes since I was 4 years old. Because of this disease, I am susceptible to possible severe hypoglycemic and hyperglycemic events that could lead to serious consequences. These events typically occur during the night and a diabetic alert dog can alert me or a family member a half hour before a high or low blood sugar, allowing me to maintain glucose control, minimizing long term complications and preventing seizures.
