Tobey’s Radiation Treatments

On Wednesday May 23rd, Tobey was diagnosed with Feline Nasal Lymphoma. A small mass was discovered in her nasal cavity that has blocked airway and caused symptoms of a chronic sinus infection for the past 6 months. Luckily the mass is small, and discovered early, and treatment could wipe away the lymphoma and she can continue to live a happy life snoozing on the couch, head butting for attention, and silently judging me binge watching Netflix. After meeting with the oncologist at MSPCA Angell, they recommend radiation on her nasal cavity and lymph nodes since (fortunately) the lymphoma has not spread anywhere else in her body. She’s remarkably in good health otherwise. She’s certainly a fighter and won’t give up, and neither can I. She’ll be undergoing daily radiation treatments at the MSPCA hospital for 15 days, and then about 2-4 weeks for expected recovery. She’s excepted to make a near full recovery (it’s cancer after all) once all this is complete, and can spend the summer lounging on the floor in a sunny spot. The cost of her X-rays, blood work, CT scans, ultrasounds, and her radiation treatments are $8,000.00, which was an unexpected and tough cost to be administered this week. Tobey has clearly touched my life and has made my life better, and I hope she has impacted some of you in person, through me, or through her sassy pics on my Facebook and Instagram. If you are able to, I’d really love some support right now, which is hard to ask for. Anything I raise will be helpful to subsidize the costs.
