Help Community Wise Fund Pipeline Move
Donation protected
Our community came together this year and was successful in moving the Columbia gas pipeline away from downtown State College. The forces that we fought with were strong and a positive outcome seemed unlikely. But we put all our time, research and resources into the fight and emerged victorious!
The pipeline fight required us to become party to Columbia gas' lawsuit against the Borough. We wanted to send a strong message that we were going to see the fight to the finish. We retained Jordan Yeager, who was one of the lawyers that represented communities fighting against provisions of Act 13 that took power of local decisions away from local govt.
We are happy that the lawsuit has now been withdrawn by Columbia gas. We have incurred a bill of $10,000 from the various lawyers that we retained. We also have considerable expenses from printing flyers, signs and are hoping that the community will help offset some of these causes. Thanks to our generous neighbors who have already donated. Hope we'll see others donate to this great cause as well.
