Help Support The Russell Family

My name is Kay Higginbotham. I met Ken and Vanessa Russell while working at the Department of Children and Family Services. I have known the Russell family for several years and have watched them care for and love many children. Ken and Vanessa fell in love with a little girl and now they are are in need of our financial help and prayers. Lexi, their daughter, had a heart transplant at a very young age. Unfortunately, a few years later she had to go through it a second time when her first heart transplant began to fail. Her second heart transplant has now began to fail after only 2 years . Each transplanted heart has developed coronary artery disease and makes her no longer eligible for a third transplant. Vanessa has stopped working to spend time making memories with Lexi as well as be available for her during medical care. When I asked Vanessa to describe Lexi. She says “how do you describe the perfect child in every way but body?” Ken and Vanessa have had to prepare for the final arrangements and cost for their daughter. If you can find it in your heart to donate financially any amount, I know the family would greatly appreciate it.
