Only 3,000 are invited to audition. Only 300 make the final cut. This year, two are from Cordova.
The Honors Performance Series at Carnegie Hall challenges elite students from across the United States, Canada, and select international schools to perform their very best. This year, Annie Carlson and Carl Ranney were both chosen to audition. And, both are Finalists accepted for a special performance at world-famous Carnegie Hall, a venue that marks the pinnacle of musical achievement. The Finalists will come together for five days in February 2014 in New York City to have the opportunity to learn from world-class conductors, work with other Finalists, and get a taste of New York City. On Sunday, February 9, they will perform at Carnegie Hall in a performance that is open to the public and specially invited representatives from collegiate music programs.
Carlson and Ranney will be fundraising to meet program expenses which include all rehearsals, equipment and sheet music; activities, transportation and lodging.
