K-9 Trooper
On February 8th at about 9:45 a.m. K-9 Trooper Armstrong and his Sgt. were rear-ended, at high speed, by a driver impaired by alcohol and drugs. The impact caused the Troopers vehicle to roll-over, into the median on I-17 just south of Flagstaff. The vehicle was destroyed and Trooper Armstrong sustained critical injuries to his lower right leg. The injuries, to date, have required 6 surgeries and will likely require more. Trooper Armstrong remains in the hospital with hope of being transferred to St. JOE'S Rehab Center in Phx. where he will undergo intensive rehab to regain use of his injured leg. Although his leg will forever be changed the hope is rehab will permit him to eventually return to work with his police K-9 partner of 6 years, Zorro.
