Marcus's New Life

Hi, my name is Rosetta Garrett and I am Fundraising for my Son Marcus Garrett.

Marc’s story began when he turned 26 years old.

Unfortunately, he was diagnosed with Heart Disease after being misdiagnosed for several years. As time passed he became more aware of the symptoms Heart Disease brings about. He was no longer able to work or have the social life he once enjoyed.

Marc was told he now had Heart Failure and would need a

defibrillator inserted into his heart. If the heart stopped beating the defibrillator would shock the heart into beating again. The defibrillator was utilized for ten years.

As a result of the many Heart medications Marc was taking, he began to suffer with shortness of breath and fatigue when walking.

In addition, Marc now suffered from Heart Failure IV and Kidney Failure V. He was admitted to NYU Langone hospital where he was approved to receive a Heart Transplant and a Kidney Transplant. Both were successfully completed Transplants.

Marc never gave up in believing that one day he would be given a chance for a good and healthy life. Miracles happen in our lives everyday.

Please don’t ever give up on your life and dreams.

They can appear when you least expect them too.

Our family has decided our bodies will better serve the lives of others through the Donor Banks program.

Marc now has a new life, new beginnings with unlimited opportunities. Life is about Hope and Possibility. Keep your Spirits up with Positivity.
