Fight To Get Grand Daughter Back

My name is Theresa. I am the grandma to our little Brenda. She was living with her Aunt Jackie since April 2017. My daughter had POA of her. Brendas mom was arrested in August on a PV and new charge so during her time incarcerated her ex filed a modification custody order to get the 2 girls. The older Jess is in a foster home at this time. There were 3 living with their mom at time of arrest and so Brenda was not protected. Brenda is the exs bioligical child and Jess was only legal child due to name on BC. Due to past incidents with this guy Brenda is not in a safe environment. He is abusive. Brenda dont want to be with him. Shes afraid of him. He has hit both girls in past with what they called a spiky belt ( mexican studded belts). He had also done inappropriate touch of older girl. The state once they find hes not her bio. Dad they will give him no say. Thats why Jess still in fh. He served my daughter in jail. She wrote letters to the court for her response. She did 3 letters. 2 before the 30 day period. The court never found them . They have since. She wanted a hearing. She did not want her daughter with him. She wanted her sister Jackie to have kids with her and I. We have very limited funds. We are just asking for at least retainer funds to get started. I have a attorney visit tomorrow and will know what he wants us to start with. I dont think He will fight back. So may be pretty easy. In order to get a emergency guardianship. We need attorney.
